Ingredients:

- 2 cups of water

- 2 cups of milk (dairy or plant-based)

- 4-5 black tea bags or 2 tablespoons of loose black tea

- 2 cinnamon sticks

- 4-5 whole cloves

- 4-5 cardamom pods, lightly crushed

- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced

- 2-3 tablespoons of honey or sweetener of your choice (adjust to taste)

- Optional: a pinch of ground nutmeg or a sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish

Instructions:

1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a gentle boil. Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom pods, and ginger. Reduce the heat to low and let the spices simmer for 5-7 minutes to release their flavors.

2. Add the black tea bags or loose black tea to the simmering spiced water. Allow it to steep for 3-5 minutes to infuse the tea with the aromatic spices.

3. While the tea is steeping, in a separate saucepan, heat the milk over medium-low heat until steaming but not boiling.

4. Once the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags or strain out the loose tea leaves, and discard the spices.

5. Combine the spiced tea with the heated milk and stir well.

6. Sweeten the chai latte with honey or your preferred sweetener, adjusting the amount to suit your taste.

7. Pour the spiced chai latte into your favorite mugs.

8. Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of ground nutmeg or cinnamon on top for an extra touch of warmth and aroma.

9. Serve the spiced chai latte immediately, and enjoy the cozy flavors of winter!

Tips:

- Customize your spiced chai latte by adding a splash of vanilla extract or a dash of ground cinnamon or cardamom.

- For a creamier texture, you can froth the milk before adding it to the tea.

- Experiment with different types of milk, such as almond, coconut, or oat, to find your favorite flavor combination.
